Emmys: Niecy Nash-Betts breaks award show tradition in acceptance speech

Niecy Nash Brown has broken award show rules in her speech as she picked up her first Emmy award last night (January 15).

Niecy was nominated at the award show in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. The nomination was for her performance opposite Evan Peters in Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. She played the character of a real woman called Glenda Cleveland. Glenda was a neighbor of the serial killer who tried to raise the alarm about him but was ultimately ignored. This was Niecy’s fifth nomination as she had previously been nominated for her work in movies such as When They See Us in 2019.
