Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey’s relationship played out on camera, but one thing that was kept under wraps was Simpson’s ’emotional affair’ with actor Johnny Knoxville. The 43-year-old admitted to this in her memoir, Open Book, although said they never got physical. However, a lie detector taken by the Jackass star may tell a different story.
The celebrity couple were married from 2002-2006 after meeting in the late ’90s. The pair were considered the “It couple” of their time and even had their own reality TV show on MTV, Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica.

The pair both starred in the 2005 movie Dukes of Hazzard together and formed an ‘intense bond’ in Simpson’s words.
“I could share my deepest authentic thoughts with him, and he didn’t roll his eyes at me. He actually liked that I was smart and embraced my vulnerabilities,” she writes.
“He believed in me and made me feel I could do anything.” She expressed how the only other man who made her feel that way was her dad and “certainly not her husband.”
The former music star continued to say she “felt a force drawing [us] together” and was afraid she “couldn’t trust herself” wondering why she was so open to it.
She insists the ‘affair’ was never going to get physical as both parties were married, although Simpson claimed “to me, an emotional affair was worse than a physical one.”
Although, a lie detector taken by Knoxville may tell a different story.
Johnny Knoxville’s strange lie detector test
On an appearance on the Howard Stern Show afterward, the host did not hold back when it came to Johnny and Jessica. He asked “Did you have s** with Jessica Simpson?” which the actor denied. The lie detector expert said he was telling the truth.
Stern then asked him if he “tongue kissed” the star, which he also denied.
The lie detector results said he was telling the truth, he did not make love to Simpson. However, he actually failed the kissing question.
Despite failing the question, Knoxville still denied anything ever happened, regardless of the results.
