Kate Beckinsale was in this complicated Reem Acra gown last night, it had puffy sleeves, a lot of tulle at the skirt, multicolored sequins and the skirt was sheer. This is several layers of wrong but at least it’s black instead of say, pastel. That’s the nicest thing I can say about it.
Also, Beckinsale’s face on camera was… distracting, I’ll say that. She’s been looking like that for some time though.
Since we’re considering pastel looks here’s Kaley Cuoco in very bizarre strapless pink Noon By Noor pantsuit. The top had a ruffled train along the back so it was like a dress from behind and a pantsuit from the front. Kaley came with her boyfriend, Karl Cook. She’s not wearing an engagement ring – yet. Big Bang Theory was only nominated in one category, Christine Baranski for guest performer in a comedy, which went to Alec Baldwin.
Tracee Ellis Ross wore this lace and beaded Zuhair Murad gown which actually looks knitted from far away. Up close you can see the craftsmanship which went into it, but in the thumbnails this just looks like yarn. I think the colors are throwing me off. Ross was nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy, which went to Kate McKinnon for SNL.
Julie Bowen was kind of breezy and understated with a white Monique Lhuillier gown with black floral embellishments and a large black sash. At first I didn’t like this but it’s growing on me, especially compared to some of the other looks last night.
Michelle Monaghan was also in Monique Lhuillier and I feel pretty confident saying that this is fug. These are see-through wide pants paired with a lace tuxedo jacket with a giant white bow on it. It’s not even humorous.
Look no ring for Kaley yet!
