Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell's chemistry is undeniable but it's not what you think

Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell star together in hugely successful new rom-com Anyone But You, and fans are obsessed with their relationship.

In the new romance movie, Sydney Sweeney and Glen pretend to be a couple at a friend’s wedding. However, despite their onscreen chemistry – and their red-carpet shenanigans – their relationship isn’t what you may think. The celebrities have both addressed the rumor and made it clear there is nothing more between them than friendship, even if fans insist otherwise.

Fans are obsessed with Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) fans have often gushed about how much they love Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell together. The obsession follows the how touchy the two Hollywood stars were on red carpets and during press interviews, as well as the looks they shared and the way they spoke to one another.

Another said: “Patient waiting for a paparazzi picture of Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell out about holding hands and kissing as couple one day.”

A fifth wrote: “You’re telling me Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell aren’t a couple?”

Someone else penned: “Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney are just made for each other. We just don’t see hot blonde couples that often anymore. It’s an eternal recurrence, a restoration of equilibrium.”

Sydney and Glen clear things up

In separate interviews, both Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell have stated they are not actually romantically involved or interested in one another. In fact, Sydney is engaged to be married to businessman Jonathan Davino while Glen recently broke up with his longtime girlfriend Gigi Paris. He had been with the model since 2019 and their separating became public in April 2023.

Glen told Men’s Health when asked about the rumors: “When all that stuff happened, you know, publicly, it felt disorienting and unfair. But what I’m realizing is that’s just a part of this gig now.”

Meanwhile Sydney said something similar. She told Variety: “It’s a rom-com. That’s what people want! Glen and I don’t really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much.”

In another interview where the rumored celebrity couple began to giggle when asked about their “love affair” Glen replied: “No, but we do love each other. And, honestly, this is one of the most spectacular humans I’ve ever met. She’s really great.”
