What is the song that plays in the end credits?

If you’re in need of a unique movie that’s both funny and sad, incorporates elements of sci-fi, and features really fantastic performances, we have good news. Noah Baumbach’s White Noise just came to Netflix on Dec. 30, and we have a feeling it’ll be a popular one for the streamer. The movie, based on the 1985 book of the same name by Don DeLillo, follows a family living in the 1980s midwest. Acclaimed actors Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig, Don Cheadle, and Jodie Turner-Smith star in the genre-blending story that’s certainly Baumbach’s most ambitious work to date.

White Noise features an original score written by Danny Elfman that’s really awesome, and it’s available now! You can check out the official soundtrack, which also includes a song called “The Cloud Is Coming” by Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips, on Spotify and Apple Music. However, if you were looking to download the song that plays in the credits of White Noise, you won’t find it on the soundtrack. Here’s how to find it!

We’re not sure why the song in the end credits is not included in the official White Noise soundtrack as it was written for the movie, but that’s okay! It has been released on its own for us to listen to as much as we want. The song is titled “new body rhumba” by LCD Soundsystem. It should be available wherever you stream music; you can find it on Spotify here and Apple Music here. It’s also on YouTube, which we’ve included below:

Variety predicted in August that the Brooklyn-founded band could find themselves in the Oscar race for Best Original Song with “new body rhumba,” and it’s definitely possible! The song was recently nominated at the Critics Choice Awards. It’s a really great track and it gets stuck in your head so easily. It really is the perfect choice for the end credits of White Noise, which features a dance routine from the characters in the grocery store.

White Noise cinematographer Lol Crawley talked to The Wrap about how they filmed the dance scene, explaining:

"“We followed them around to the pace of somebody pushing a shopping trolley, so it’s fairly controlled. By the end of it, it gets more ambitious, and becomes more choreographed, and it becomes faster. So then we employed the use of Steadicam so that we could really get some speed up and get some energy out.”"

White Noise is now streaming on Netflix.
